A new way to savour the Park of Pena
Workshop: Tea in Bloom - From Harvest to Cup
From Alto do Chá to the Chalet of the Countess of Edla, join a workshop on picking tea flowers and preparing an infusion. A morning of hands-on discovery, with nature and history all around you.
At Alto do Chá, autumn reveals another side of the tea plant: its flowers. In this workshop, we invite you to take a closer look, help harvest them and discover how they become a delicate infusion.
With expert guidance, learn how to pick the flowers and explore the drying and preparation stages through a practical activity. The experience continues on foot along the paths of the Park of Pena to the Chalet of the Countess of Edla, where a guided tasting of the Park’s first tea flower infusion awaits.
Every cup also tells a story. In the 19th century, King Ferdinand II encouraged experiments in tea cultivation in Sintra. Parques de Sintra’s restoration of Alto do Chá continued this connection between botany and the landscape, enabling the first artisanal production of green tea in June 2026. Now it is time to discover the aromas and flavours of the flowers.
Come and be part of this story, from harvest to cup.
