Tradition in Motion
This workshop aims to explain the training process of an Alter horse, from its selection, handling, and breaking in at the Alter Stud Farm, to reaching the highest level at the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art.
Program
- 10:15 am: Welcome session
- 10:30 am: Portuguese Equestrian Art: the Picaria Real and the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art
- 11:00 am: Selection of the Lusitano Alter horse for the Portuguse School of Equestrian Art
- 11:15 am: Explaining lounging and initiation to work in hand: theory & practical demonstrations
- 12:15 am: Lower School: theory & practical demonstrations
- 1:15 pm: Q&A
- 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm: Lunch (included)
- 2:30 pm: High school: theory & practical demonstrations
- 3:30 pm: The airs above the ground: theory & practical demonstrations
- 4:15 pm: Conclusion and Q&A
