• National Palace of Pena: 9.30 am opening > 6.30 pm closing (last admission at 6.00 pm); Park: 9.00 am opening > 7.00 pm closing (last admission at 6.00 pm)
• Biester Palace and Park: April/September — 9.00 am–7.00 pm (last admission at 6.00 pm); October/March — 10.00 am–6.30 pm (last admission at 5.30 pm)

Recommendations for visiting the National Palace of Pena

• This visit requires advance booking for a specific date and time. Please allow sufficient time for your journey to Pena to ensure that you arrive at your chosen time.
• The time shown on your ticket corresponds to your admission time to the Palace, not to the Park. The Palace is located inside the Park of Pena, at the top of a hill, which means that after validating your ticket at the Park entrance, you will still need to walk up to the Palace. If you are unable to make the journey on foot, a small transfer service is available at the Park’s main entrance to take you to the Palace (not included in this combined ticket; this supplement must be purchased in advance). Regardless of how you travel between the Park entrance and the Palace, please allow approximately 30 minutes for this journey.
• If you arrive at the Palace before your booked time, you will not be allowed to enter. You should only make your way to the Palace entrance at your scheduled time. In the meantime, take the opportunity to explore the Park of Pena, Portugal’s largest arboretum, home to numerous botanical collections and hidden corners waiting to be discovered, as well as the Chalet of the Countess of Edla.
• When making your way to the Palace at your booked time, please have your ticket ready.
• If you arrive at the Palace of Pena after your booked time, you will not be allowed to enter and your ticket cannot be refunded (please see the general terms and conditions of sale). Plan your journey carefully to ensure that you are not late.
• The ticket is valid for one admission only.

Useful information

• At the Park and National Palace of Pena, there is a restaurant in the Palace as well as cafés offering light meals.
• At Biester Palace and Park, the Tea House offers the perfect setting for a relaxing break.

Getting here

• Biester Palace and Park is served by Scotturb bus 435 and is located close to Sintra’s historic centre. The Park and National Palace of Pena is situated at the top of the hills and is served by bus 434, operated by the same transport company.
• Public transport: To reach Sintra by train, take the Lisbon–Sintra railway line. At the terminus in Sintra, you can use your ticket to board Scotturb buses 434 and 435, which provide access to both palaces.
• Private vehicle: Private vehicles are not permitted on the access roads to these monuments. On arriving in Sintra, we recommend using the car parks on the outskirts of the town. Stops for Scotturb buses 434 and 435, which are included in your ticket, are located close to Sintra railway station and the peripheral car parks.
