National Palace of Pena: Theatrical Visit
An exclusive, intimate experience with actors, centred on Queen Amelia’s apartments, a different way to experience Pena.
Farewell, My Beloved Homeland!
Some visits show spaces. This one reveals people, choices and a turning point in history.
In this theatrical visit, the National Palace of Pena becomes the stage for a live experience where history and theatre intertwine, bringing you closer to the life, sensibility and legacy of Queen Amélia of Orléans (1865–1951), in a carefully crafted format for a small audience.
It was at Pena that Queen Amélia received the news of the Portuguese Republic (1910). The Palace was also her preferred refuge, drawn by Sintra, art and nature. This experience recreates that atmosphere, not as a lecture, but as presence and memory unfolding in the rooms themselves.
