The sophisticated home of the Court
National Palace and Gardens of Queluz
A palace defined by grandeur and exuberant detail, where Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassical styles meet — surrounded by theatrical gardens made for strolling, contemplating and imagining court life
The luxurious royal residence
The National Palace and Gardens of Queluz captivate visitors with their architecture and the stories of three generations of the Portuguese Royal Family. Amid state rooms, music, ceremony and private life, the palace reflects the evolution of tastes and styles of its time, from Baroque to Neoclassicism.
Outdoors, the gardens extend the experience: winding paths, water features, cascades and memories of celebrations, gondola rides along the canal, theatre, hunts and evening gatherings. It is a setting where heritage is lived in motion — as though the stroll itself were part of the ritual.
