Jazz at Monserrate – 3-Day Pass

Jazz at Monserrate returns to the Park and Palace of Monserrate for a new edition, inviting audiences to experience music in one of Portugal's most extraordinary heritage settings. Over the course of a weekend, the festival creates an encounter between jazz, heritage and nature, transforming Monserrate into a place of discovery, reflection and shared experience.

Under the theme "Other Times", the 2026 edition invites audiences to slow down and rediscover the pleasure of attentive listening. Through composition and improvisation, tradition and contemporaneity, the programme explores different ways of experiencing time, affirming jazz as a language open to dialogue between generations, artistic practices and forms of expression.

Following the opening screening of “Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror” (1922) by F. W. Murnau, accompanied live by Daniel Bernardes, the festival continues with MA (間), in which Rita Maria and Angélica Salvi reimagine the music of Bernardo Sassetti through the dialogue between voice, harp and improvisation. The programme continues with Becca Stevens' intimate “Maple To Paper”, Mateus Saldanha's contemporary project “Troubles”, and concludes with the João Barradas Trio joined by Jonathan Kreisberg, bringing together two of the most creative voices in contemporary jazz.

The 3-Day Pass Includes

• Admission to all festival concerts from 6.00 pm onwards on 11, 12 and 13 September.
• Early access to the Park of Monserrate (from 7.30 pm on 11 September; from 5.00 pm on 12 and 13 September).
• General admission to the Palace of Monserrate Palace (until 9.00 pm on 11 September; until 8.00 pm on 12 and 13 September).

Additional Information

• The programme on 11 September is recommended for audiences aged 12 and over. The concerts on 12 and 13 September are recommended for audiences aged 6 and over.
• The audience sits on the lawn, which has a steep slope.
• For greater comfort, we recommend bringing a warm layer, comfortable footwear and a blanket.
• Late admission is not permitted.
• Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded except in the event of a change of date or cancellation.
• Please plan your journey in advance according to your chosen means of transport to ensure you arrive on time.

Getting Here

• The entrance to the Park and Palace of Monserrate is located at the following coordinates: 38° 47′ 27.39″ N, 9° 24′ 40.24″ W.
• Public transport: Scotturb bus 435 and Carris Metropolitana bus 1253, both departing from Sintra railway station.
• By car: From the N247 road in Colares, follow the N375 to the Park and Palace of Monserrate.
• Parques de Sintra's responsibilities are limited to the parks and monuments under its management. The company cannot be held responsible for external circumstances, including access routes and transport services.
