Forestminds – Health & Wellbeing in the Forest
Forestminds invites you to experience health and wellbeing in the unique surroundings of the Convent of the Capuchos. During this September session, wander through the ancient woodland trails, embrace the transition from summer to autumn, and take time to pause, be present, and reconnect with yourself and the natural world.
A Return to Balance
There are places that naturally invite stillness. The Convent of the Capuchos is one of them. Surrounded by ancient trees, granite boulders and paths walked for centuries, Forestminds revives the site's timeless purpose: offering space to slow down, observe and rediscover balance.
In September, the ancient woodland of the Convent of the Capuchos invites us to celebrate the changing of the seasons. As summer reaches its fullness and autumn quietly approaches, we will follow a mindful journey of presence and awareness, reflecting on the "fruits" of the past months and preparing, with greater intention and clarity, for a new cycle.
About ForestMind
Forestminds (Metsämieli) is a wellbeing method developed in Finland that combines walks in nature with guided exercises designed to engage the senses, cultivate mindfulness and encourage self-reflection. Inspired by the Finnish people's deep connection with forests, this approach invites participants to slow down, reduce stress, and restore physical and emotional balance.
Like forest bathing, Forestminds draws on the restorative power of nature to enhance wellbeing and strengthen our connection with the natural world.
Sessions are led by guides certified by the Portuguese Society of Forest Sciences / Prof. Baeta Neves Centre for Applied Ecology at the Higher Institute of Agronomy and are offered throughout the year in some of Sintra's most remarkable natural settings, including the Park of Monserrate, the woodland of the Convent of the Capuchos, and Park of Pena.
Private sessions are available exclusively for organised groups, subject to availability and a customised quotation.
